Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS DYE SUBLIMATION PRINTING?
Dye-sublimation printing yields beautiful and permanent colors that are embedded in the substrate or fabric, rather than printed on the surface. Images on 100% polyester fabric won’t fade or crack even after multiple washings. Images on hard substrates will not chip, peel or scratch. This is done with the aid of transfer paper and a heat press.
WHAT IS CAD VINYL PRINTING?
Cad Cut Vinyl Printing is considered as one of the most popular printing techniques, but there is actually no printing involved in it. In this process, a state of the art machine is used to cut on high quality vinyl printing paper into the shape of the logo or design, then heat pressed onto the fabric. The vinyl is available in many colors with different properties to allow for cotton or polyester, stretch for yoga pants and other garments.
WHAT IS FULL COLOR CAD VINYL PRINTING?
Print/cut systems are perfect for creating a wide variety of full color items, from apparel, decals and labels to vehicle graphics and signs. With our Roland DG 30” wide format printer/cutter, we can create t-shirts, die-cut labels, decals and stickers with vibrant, consistent solid colors, smooth gradations and fine details.
CAN I GET JUST ONE SHIRT, OR HAT ETC., CUSTOM MADE?
NO PROBLEM – Individual items can be screen printed, heat transferred, direct to garment printed, embroidered or custom lettered. Pricing varies, of course.
WHAT IS DIGITAL OR DIRECT TO GARMENT PRINTING?
This refers to “push button screen printing” using water based inks. Any design from a one color logo, to multi-color photos and artwork. Best used on 100% cotton, for one offs or small runs of either white, light color or dark color garments. Color, intensity and brightness may vary from the original to how it looks on a t-shirt or other garments.
WHAT IS SILK SCREENING OR SCREEN PRINTING?
This refers to the process of “burning” a screen with a desired layout, adding plastisol ink and pushing it through the screen onto a t-shirt, etc. and finally sending it through a dryer to “cure”.
WHAT IS A CUSTOM HEAT TRANSFER?
This is a heat applied transfer or “decal” that has a screen print look, but is best applied to white tees.
Medium to dark color tees, require a white backing material which works best with a “self contained” graphic or photo. It has a bit of a stiff feel when first applied, but softens with wear and washing.
Graphic and or wording will probably fade with laundering. Garment Care: Turn inside out, cool wash, cool dryer.
WHAT IS INDIVIDUAL LETTERS OR NUMBER?
These are thermal film (vinyl like) letters and numbers that are heat applied onto the t-shirt or garment.
